This level of job opportunities compels us at ¶¶Ňő´«Ă˝ and the SER Network of Affiliates to do everything we can daily and add even greater numbers of trained, skilled individuals into the pipeline. Human capital is at a premium right now, a challenge we have undertaken to help solve. “We are especially excited to see the opportunities in areas that address our healthcare needs, leverage technology advances, including artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and provide training for eco-sustainable and eco-regeneration positions,” adds Salazar.

Labor Day is an opportunity for our country to adopt a newer and more accurate meaning of American individualism in the 21st Century. The term has historically been used when revering great champions who achieved unimaginable victory against all odds, explorers who intrepidly ventured into the most foreboding wildernesses on earth, or the captains of business who forged new industries that transformed our society. Indeed, each and all are worthy of the accolades and honor.

¶¶Ňő´«Ă˝ celebrates the American worker in our labor force. This is at the heart of our enduring strength as a country founded on the ideals that every person has worth and value before God and our society. These are unprecedented times, and we can help ensure every worker is empowered and productive.

“As Americans, we can be proud on this Labor Day that we live in a country that offers an abundance of choices in career paths, including certificated positions, specialized trades, and professions that reward those with advanced degrees,” says Salazar. “Every generation aspires to mentor the next and hopes those who follow will raise the bar higher, advance farther, dream, and do greater. This ideal is the spirit of Labor Day, that our work is a blessing, and our purpose is not simply to do for ourselves but for others, including family, community, and our nation. Let us encourage one another to work to meet our nation’s needs. This Labor Day, may we each champion our resolve as a country to achieve our greatest potential in unity and goodwill for the common good,” added Salazar.

A Proclamation on National Hispanic Heritage Month, 2021 /national-hispanic-heritage-month/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=national-hispanic-heritage-month Wed, 15 Sep 2021 19:42:06 +0000 /?p=82722 A Proclamation on National Hispanic Heritage Month, 2021
During National Hispanic Heritage Month, we recognize that Hispanic heritage is American heritage.  We see it in every aspect of our national life:  on our television and movie screens, in the music that moves our feet, and in the foods we enjoy.  We benefit from the many contributions of Hispanic scientists working in labs across the country to help us fight COVID-19 and the doctors and the nurses on the front lines caring for people’s health.  Our Nation is represented by Hispanic diplomats who share our values in countries all over the world and strengthened by military members and their families who serve and sacrifice for the United States.  Our communities are represented by Hispanic elected officials, and our children are taught by Hispanic teachers.  Our future will be shaped by Hispanic engineers who are working to develop new technology that will help us grasp our clean energy future and by the skilled union workers who are going to build it. ¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! /cinco-de-mayo/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=cinco-de-mayo Thu, 06 May 2021 04:07:57 +0000 /?p=69661 Happy Cinco de Mayo! On this day in 1862, the Mexican army was victorious over France at the Battle of Puebla. Did you know – Cinco de Mayo is also known as Battle of Puebla Day?

Mexicans had won that particular battle at Puebla, which slowed down French power and support of the Confederates north of the border. So the celebration was that Mexico had helped secure the fate of the Union. It was a form of patriotism where victory over the French was a blow to the confederacy and slavery. Also, we have to keep in mind that Mexico had already outlawed slavery much much earlier, which was the basis for the confederacy’s economy.

In Mexico, Cinco de Mayo may not be a big celebration, but in the United States, the holiday has turned into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage. At ¶¶Ňő´«Ă˝, we are grateful for and celebrate Mexico’s influence on America’s cultural landscape today. We are dedicated to enabling the Hispanic community and other underserved populations to fully participate in the socio-economic mainstream, achieving equal access and parity in all aspects of American society. ¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Standing Against Asian American Hate /standing-against-asian-american-hate/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=standing-against-asian-american-hate Tue, 23 Mar 2021 15:34:09 +0000 /?p=65333 ¶¶Ňő´«Ă˝ stands beside Asian Americans and condemns the horrifying racism and violence terrorizing the Asian community in this country.

Only overpowering cries of unity, respect and community can silence the deafening sounds of ignorance and hatred that continue to divide us and threaten so many. As a nation, we must do better because I still believe we can.

At ¶¶Ňő´«Ă˝, we strive for equality, fight on behalf of minority populations in this country, and stand up to injustice. Serving and meeting the needs of the underserved is part of our SER mission and that extends to speaking out against those that seek to tear down a community.

To our Asian American friends and neighbors, we cannot fathom the fear and pain this latest explosion of racism has caused you. We see you. We are listening. And we remain vigilant in eradicating hate with unifying voices, hope and community.

Happy Women’s History Month! /womenshistorymonth/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=womenshistorymonth Sat, 06 Mar 2021 03:25:25 +0000 /?p=63231 Happy Women’s History Month! Congress declared March as Women’s History Month for the first time in 1987. While we should always honor and respect women’s role in every aspect of our history, this month, we vow to amplify those voices and highlight those contributions even more.

Think about it – without women, we wouldn’t have the hand sanitizer gel (Lupe Hernandez), laser cataract surgery (Dr. Patricia Era Bath), fire escapes (Anna Connelly), medical syringes (Letitia Geer), and so many other things that make our lives healthier, safer and just better all around.

Throughout history, society hasn’t allowed women to sit at the table with their male counterparts. They had to work so much harder to be heard and respected, persevering and developing grit and determination along the way.

While we continue to strive for more progress, women’s history is still being made each day. Kamala Harris has shattered the glass ceiling as our first female vice president.

To these brave women, to our mothers and daughters, our aunts and grandmothers, we celebrate you and honor you. At ¶¶Ňő´«Ă˝, we hope to support and elevate your work both this month and in the future. Thank you for your grace, passion, and courage. We salute you.
